So whilst holidaying in any given area why not see if there is a Show, Festival or Event that is worth a visit.
Some shows like the VW Shows, Caravan and Camping Shows may offer camping on site which can be useful. Please check though, if disabled, that there are facilities to accommodate your needs.
A handful of shows are held on campsites but the majority are at show grounds so although toilets are catered for not always are there washing facilities available. For a weekend this is bearable but for any longer this could prove tiresome.
If this is the case we have an endless supply of parks to choose from - try using the radius search to narrow down your closest caravan park or campsite to your Show, Festival or Event.
We have a whole page dedicated to the Olympic Games 2012 which has a fantastic list of parks that are in the area of the Olympic Games. Lee Valley Parks are exceptionally close and offer some great amenities to visitors. They also have many events held so keep looking back to this page.
Festivals
The music festivals like the V Festival and the Big Chill are great to visit for the younger generation but can also be fun if older please remember though that limited amenities are normally available at the music festivals and it can be rather cramped.
There are the jazz festivals like Jazz in the Park held in Bude that offer a great way of relaxing over a weekend. Many street festivals happen throughout the summer. Agreat one in Herefordshire is the Bromyard Gala held in July and in Newent the Newent Onion Fair held in September both are worth a visit.
Shows
There are some great shows to visit the VW Campervan shows like The Mighty Dubfest, Bus Type held at Oswestry at the beginning of the year and many more to choose from. They really are so much fun and being VW enthusiast ourselves we know these events are friendly and welcoming not just to VW owners but everyone alike.
Events
An event is normally something happening in the area like Steam Extravaganza, Cotswold, Gloucestershire or on a particular campsite for the weekend

Welcome to the Motorhome, Caravan & Camping Show
Spring 2012 will see the launch of a new February Motorhome Caravan & Camping Show at London’s premiere exhibition venue, ExCeL London.
The event will be the biggest motorhome, caravan and camping showcase to take place in London for over five years and aims to satisfy the needs of the thousands of campers, caravanners and motor caravanners living across the South/South East of the country and beyond!
The February show, run by the caravan and motorhome industry's exhibition company, NCC Events, will be the only show in the spring where visitors will be able to see new 2012 season models from the the UK’s leading caravan and motorhome manufacturers.
The event will also showcase the very latest trailer tents, folding caravans, holiday homes, lodges, towcars, tents and camping equipment as well as thousands of accessories, campsites and great value holiday destinations.
The show promises to be a great day out for those with an interest in caravanning and camping holidays. The Indoor Show for Outdoor People!
The Motorhome Show remains indoors for April, with all the dealers & exhibitors that previous visitors to the show have come to expect.
All the leading makes will be represented from all over Europe, plus some American recreational vehicles. There will also be a good selection of accessories to choose from and buy, including a bolt-on service for those who would like accessories fitted, whilst staying for the long weekend.
Overnight Camping available from Thursday noon to Monday noon.
If you own a caravan or motorhome, you are welcome to join them for the long weekend & enjoy two nights of FREE live entertainment on Friday and Saturday (Numbers limited to venue capacity).
Camping Fees: If you arrive from Thursday - £35 or Friday - £30.
All units can stay until Monday but they must leave by mid-day.

Since 2001 Zapcat Racing has proved a phenomenal success, with the UK Zapcat National Championship establishing itself as the worlds largest one design championship & now celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The reasons for the sports success can be attributed to the foundations and ethics on which Zapcat Racing is based: Strict one design powerboat racing that is safe, affordable, fair and fun in challenging marine environments.
The Zapcats were used for an event on the Channel 4 programme - Famous & Fearless aired in January 2011.

It’s an epicurean delight, a celebration of the finest British food, ales and cider in the midst of summer; it’s Eat Festival taking place from 1-5 August at Camp In London.
From 26 July – 13 August 2012, Camp In London will be home to one of the biggest camping festivals in London. The temporary 5,000 person-a-night campsite is perfectly located just a 5-minute shuttle bus ride from the Olympic Park and will be in operation specifically for the Olympics. Onsite entertainment will feature a great array of sport, entertainment, art and food and beverage options.
Eat Festival, the first of two feature festivals onsite will offer some of the most diverse epicurean delicacies from the United Kingdom. Sample quality produce from local organic farmers, cheese and cider makers, bakers and curers, just to name a few!
Entertainment over the five days will consist of jazz and big bands to perfectly compliment the decadent delights on offer.
In keeping with the fine food theme, there will be a traditional Maori hangi in the ground as part of the Eat Festival signature event, Pacifica Day UK. Taking place on 4 August, Pacifica Day proceedings will commence with a customary New Zealand welcome ceremonial dance and will continue throughout the day to showcase the exotic sights, sounds and tastes of the South Pacific region. Highlights include the special performance by the Beats of Polynesia with traditional costume and dance routines. The breathtaking indigenous New Zealand haka will leave guests speechless.
If you consider yourself a bit of a foodie and are eager to see what’s on offer, there is still camping available, from £15pp per night for pitch-your-own camping.
Admission to Eat Festival is free, however Pacifica Day on 4 August is a ticketed event. Tickets to Pacifica Day are now available here at a cost of £10. Children under 12 are free.

The Vale of Glamorgan is home to the 2012 National Eisteddfod - one of the world’s greatest cultural festivals, held from 4 – 11 August 2012.
Entry to all activities on the Maes – including the Pink Pavilion during the day - is free for the price of a daily ticket. Concessions are available for children and pensioners.

Manchester Central
For the last ten years the Manchester International Tattoo Show has been one of the most popular and longest running conventions of the UK tattoo scene. It has paved the way for how successful conventions are now managed.
I am letting you know that we have launched our brand new website!
Over the next few months we will be adding the many tattoo artists and exhibitors that will be a part of this great event. We will also be keeping you up to date with entertainment and many other goings on, too. We're doubling the size of this show - so there's plenty more in store!
One of the most important factors is we have a date change. The original event dates used to be the first weekend of March. It is NO LONGER happening then, so please do not turn up in Manchester in March expecting to see the Manchester Tattoo Show. We have moved the convention to the first weekend in August, but it will still remain at the same venue, Manchester Central.
This year, The Manchester Tattoo Show will be held on 4-5 AUGUST 2012.
We have also reduced the ticket prices from last year, too - and those of you who pre-book a weekend ticket will also receive a free Manchester Tattoo Show 2012 T-Shirt! ....Good stuff, eh?
